At the intersection of hope, faith is a quiet space where anything can happen. It all begins with hope. Hope is where we start feeling. Hope is where an expectation begins. As Jim Carrey says “hope is a beggar”, but hope is where we start. Without a feeling that something is possible, it isn’t possible. Without an expectation that we can achieve our hope, even if that expectation is slim, we cannot start.
Really, hope is where you start. It’s where we all have that moment that allows us to look up and say “it’s possible”. Without that sliver of possibility, nothing can be done. There is a reason why all of the self-help books and programs start by either stating affirmations or discovering and removing blockages. Affirmations allow us to program ourselves to that sliver of hope. They let us set ourselves up to see the possibility of the outcome we desire.
What is key is that Hope does indeed spring eternal. We can always find a way to that space of hope, to that space where we see the realm of things that had previously been impossible and they shift to possible. Shifting things to the possible is what allows us to step into faith.
Faith is where the action is. With faith we move from the mere acceptance of possibility to the understanding that something will happen. This is not a simple step. While hope is a wish, and hope allows us to transform wants into possibilities, faith demands that we belief. Faith demands that we accept our desire as fact.
It is impossible to manifest anything or any situation in our life that we don’t believe is possible. This is where hope tips us into movement. Faith though, gives us the drive to commit to and work for our goals, knowing that we will get them eventually.
Faith, though, is not quiet. Faith demands our attention, and exists even when we are not actively engaged with thoughts about our goals.
It is in that set of moments when faith becomes active that trigger a response from the universe. It is the activation of our understanding of how things work that draws them to us and makes the things we do to achieve our goals, productive and functional.
It is strange to think that faith is the trigger that changes the possible into reality.
